Denver home prices up 9.1% in a year

Home-resale prices in Metro area up by an average of 9.1 percent from a year earlier. This a fourteenth straight month increase with a year-over-year increase of  8.9 percent or more, according S&P/Case-Shiller Home Prices Index, recently released.

Mortgages “underwater” declines

Fewer homes with negative equity often referred to as “upside-down” or “underwater“ were found in the third quarter, according to Core-Logic. Rising home prices in Denver-Aurora-Lakewood area helped drop the rate by 8 percent. Continued decline is expected with the improved housing market.
